You made it to Friday. Your brain is tired. Your inbox is full. If you’re anything like the visionary leaders I work with, you’re already thinking about next week.
But before you close your laptop, give yourself this tiny gift: a 3-minute reset that clears the clutter and sets you up for a better Monday.
Let's expand capacity. This is your minimum viable tidy.
Here’s how it goes:
1. Star 1–3 emails that need attention Monday. Just the most urgent or time-sensitive ones. You’re giving Monday-you a soft place to land.
2. Archive the rest (on this screen). You’re making visual space. Gmail will hold onto it. Trust the search bar.
3. Set an intention for how you want to return. One word, a sticky note, a calendar event, whatever helps you come back grounded. Maybe it’s “ease.” Maybe it’s “boundaries.” Maybe it’s just “coffee before emails.”
That’s it. No elaborate system. No pressure to conquer it all. Just one small way to tell your nervous system: You’re safe to rest.
Operations isn’t about control. It’s about care.
So close your inbox. Exhale. And let the weekend begin.
